The book was given the endorsement of Mr. Fred Engh, President & CEO, of the National Alliance of Youth Sport

Mr. Fred Engh “believes as caring coaches, parents and administrators of programs, it is our responsibility to ensure that every child enjoys a positive experience in whatever activity they choose”

He recently called my story an "idyllic journey of joy and life's lessons through children's sports.” He also said that the book “says a lot about sports and growing up"

Hi Everyone:

This blog is devoted to funny soccer tales that your little ones may have experienced as they grew up playing soccer.

Our book is just about such "Tales" and the central theme for us is how the kids can play soccer even when their laces are flopping in the wind. This is a worldwide phenomena so join the fun. Let us know your stories !!

The book is due out in the Spring or Summer of 2012. It is being published by Tate Publishers. Look for it with them.

Yours in soccer

  1. 2014 World Cup

Maracana stadium in the Amazon a strange place, 3 European teams playing there in the early stage of the tournament and get knocked out in the group stage, Italy (despite the Suarez bite), England and the beloved Spain. France ekes out wins to the quarters. James Rodriguez for Columbia has a gianst grasshopper on his arm after his PK against Brazil. Field is chopped up with bumps on it. Why did they ever build the stadium up there?
Brazilian team a bitter disappointment does not make it out of the semi-finals with Neymar, Jr. getting his spine cracked in Columbia game. Out for the tournament, probably did not make a difference on advancing. Poor Brazilian play.
Mexico does a great job advancing to the quarters on the brilliant play of their goalie, Ochoa. He was stopping everything with reaction saves. Mexico gets screwed vs. Netherlands with a terrible call against Marquez for ???taking down Arjen Robben. P.K. gives Dutch the win.
Costa Rica a surprise team with balanced play and a good counterattacking style. Brian Ruiz and striker, Cambell make a difference. Ultimately a loss in PK's vs. Argentina.
Germany marches on to the title. Tough match against Algeria to go through. Thomas Mueller and Bastian Schweinsteiger, along with sweeper-keeper, Manuel Noyer do make the difference. Miroslav Klose gets his records of most goals in World Club play. Hits 15.
Argentina and Lionel Messi playing better as the tournament progresses and into the title game. Messi some wonder goals in overtime play. DiMaria injured in quarterfinals and out for the rest of the tournament.
United States showing true grit as they get to the round of 16. Despite coach Klinsmann not selecting Landon Donovan for his roster. A lot of controversy. Some great goals b the youngsters, John Brooks header to win the Ghana game. Julian Green hits a one-time volley vs. Belgium in the second overtime. What about Tim Howard's World Cup Record 16 saves against that same Belgium team and the 2-1 loss.
Germany marches to the title game against Argentina. Argentina had its chances with Higuain open net opportunities and offsides call, Palacio a miss on the open net and ultimately, Mario Goetze scores from a Schuerrle cross to win the title in the 113th minute for Germany.
It was a great tournament. Germany wins its 4th title.
